Simple Responses for Mass

Throughout the Mass, we are asked to respond to a few invitations.  Be sure you know the correct answer to each petition:

The Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.

This we ask through Christ our Lord. ( or similar ending to prayer)
  Amen.

The Word of the Lord. (the end of the two readings at Mass)
        Thanks be to God.

A reading from the holy Gospel according to St. X.
        Glory to You, O Lord.

The Gospel of the Lord. (at the end of the Gospel)
        Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

Lift up your hearts.
        We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
        It is right and just.
